Special Education Needs
Welcome to the West Ashton Primary School SEND Page.
At West Ashton, we pride ourselves on our nurturing environment which offers tailored support alongside appropriate challenge for all of our children. We believe that all children should reach their potential. We aspire to providing the best possible support in order for all children to achieve and thrive. We aim to prepare children for their future in their time.
What is Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?
SEND is defined in the Wiltshire Local Offer and in the SEND Code of Practice 2015 as the needs of children who have a learning difficulty which means that they require special educational provision to be made for them. Furthermore, it encompasses children who have a learning difficulty who find it harder to learn than the majority of children of the same age, or they have a disability which prevents or hinders them from accessing the education provided for other children.
Please do talk to your child’s class teacher if you think he or she may have SEND.
SEND Information Report
The Special Educational Needs Code of Practice 2015 requires all schools to write a SEND Information Report. West Ashton Primary School’s latest report is linked below.
