Where the money goes

P.O.W.A are delighted to have purchased the following items –

July 2014

Blackout Blinds for the School Hall

Dr Nash requested blackout blinds for all windows in the main school hall. This will allow a more professional look to future school performances and present an opportunity for up to date lighting.

June 2014

A brand 'New Kitchen' for the children is being funded by POWA

We are delighted to fund a whole kitchen which will include;
  • Induction Hob
  • 2 x Ovens with 'stay cool' doors
  • All kitchen units, doors and worktops
  • A washing machine/dryer
  • A large fridge/freezer
  • A huge array of equipment from bowls and spoons to food processors and blenders!

The kitchen will be completed ready for the new school year September 2014 and will be used by ALL children each term as well as cookery club and any community events.

If you would be willing to volunteer a little time to help cook with the children or provide classroom support then do let us know!

OUTDOOR PLAY EQUIPMENT

Description: A wide variety of outdoor play equipment to provide the children with a stimulating range of activities to do at break times and improve the environment for all pupils as a result.

MacBook Pro

Description: P.O.W.A purchased a MacBook Pro which is primarily for ICT clubs for filmmaking and music. Also the laptop has SEN implications and is more powerful to run software to help in English teaching. The MacBook was successfully used as part of our recent 'Alice in Wonderland' production and is used every day in Diamond Class.

TROPHY ‘The P.O.W.A Exemplary Role Model Award’

Description: P.O.W.A sponsored a trophy to be presented annually at the end of year Celebration Assembly for a child who has been an ‘Exemplary Role Model’. Dr Nash states ‘it is an incentive for those children who always do well to be noticed’

CLASS DONATIONS Oct 2012/July 2013

Each class was offered £100 to go towards a class trip or equipment to benefit the children.
