Shooting Stars Nursery Provision

Shooting Stars Nursery Provision is part of the Foundation Stage Unit at West Ashton C of E Primary School.

The Nursery and Reception children work together as a team under the care of Mrs Meehan the class teacher and a team of highly qualified and experienced nursery practitioners. This provision offers the children a complete early years’ experience within the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum framework and therefore negates the need for a transition into school.

The team caring for your children firmly believe in ‘learning through play’ and have developed a creative classroom environment which aims to meet each child’s individual needs through continuous provision and specific learning paths depending on age and ability.

 Outside learning:

Shooting stars provision offers a bespoke covered outside area, which is accessible at all times and a natural area which is used frequently for activities including den building, deconstructed role play and fun in the mud pit. The children are encouraged to explore, create and develop physical and intellectual skills through an environment which has been especially designed to meet their developmental needs and encourage independence. The children are also encouraged to explore the wider outdoor area of the school.
