Spelling is tricky and there is not an easy way to learn new spellings.  Children need support at home.  In line with the National Curriculum, we believe that children need to not only know how to spell the word but use new words in context: they need to understand what the words mean.  If you encourage your children to use the new words in their spoken vocabulary, they become confident to use them in their written work.
