Welcome to Voyagers Class

Class Teacher: Alex Blake-Thwaite
Teaching Assistants:  Hannah Bowman (mornings)
We are a Year 5/6 class, sometimes referred to as Upper Key Stage 2.  Our daily learning includes English, SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar), reading and mathematics.  Throughout the week we also study history, geography, RE, PSHE, French, music, PE, art, design technology and computing.
In Term 3 we will be thinking 'Where have we come from? Where can we go?' We will be asking the question, "What makes people go on journeys?" as we look at some of the most famous journeys in the last century.  Going back much further in history, we will look at patterns in evolution and consider inheritance.  Our writing will be inspired by journeys  - those undertaken by humans and DNA.
Our topic web can be found below with details of all our learning areas.
We will consider the concepts of freedom, transformation, oppression and dreams as we reflect on why make a journey.
Below you will find information relevant to Y5/6, including all the objectives we teach in English and maths in line with the National Curriculum.
