Welcome from our Headteacher

A very warm welcome to West Ashton Church of England Primary School — a caring, ambitious and inclusive school, where every child who walks through our gates has a light of their own to SHINE. Our role is to help each child to feel a sense of belonging, to flourish and to shine.

Our children are supported to become confident, thoughtful and enthusiastic learners. We provide a broad and engaging curriculum that inspires curiosity, builds knowledge and gives every child opportunities to discover their strengths. We celebrate effort, progress and achievement, while helping children understand that mistakes and challenges are an important part of learning.

As a Church of England school, our Christian character is at the heart of our community. Children are given opportunities to reflect, explore life’s big questions and develop spiritually. We help them to understand themselves, build meaningful relationships with others, appreciate the beauty and wonder of the world, and consider ideas and experiences that reach beyond the everyday.

Strong relationships are central to our school. We work closely with families, our church and the wider community because we know that children thrive when they feel safe, supported and that they truly belong.
